Integrated production is an agricultural production system that uses agronomic and defense methods aimed at minimizing the use of chemicals, water and energy.
In Italy there are, both at regional and national level, quality systems related to brands that identify agricultural and food products obtained in compliance with the integrated production regulations of the specific region of belonging.
The National Quality System of Integrated Production (SQNPI) is aimed at the enhancement of agricultural and agri-food productions and in particular provides for the certification of the integrated production process that combines good agronomic practices with a sustainable use of fertilizers and phytosanitary products in order to guarantee the economy of agricultural practices and at the same time a low environmental impact. Compatible with the payment disbursement procedures provided for by the agro-climatic environmental measures activated both with the RDP resources and with those of the fruit and vegetable OCM, the system allows for the management of checks and controls in a harmonized way at national level, thus facilitating work paying agencies.

The SQNPI has a computerized management of adhesion and data acquisition of the company file through the SIAN. Participating operators must adopt the integrated production disciplinary of the region to which they belong.
