CE Marking Construction Products

Certification, inspection and evaluation tests and CE marking of over 100 different construction products

CSI is a Notified Body (identification number 0497) for certification, inspection and tests by the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Domestic Affairs  and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and is involved in the evaluation and CE marking process of over 100 different construction products.

CSI has been operating in the field of CE marking of construction products since 2004, both as a Certification Body and as a Test Laboratory, to directly perform tests. CSI technicians and experts actively participate in European forums on standardization and certification.

Regulation (EU) no. 305/2011, which from 1 July 2013 repealed Directive 89/106 / EEC (CPD), provides for the mandatory CE marking of all the main products incorporated in construction works, ranging from basic elements (panels, aggregates, etc. ), finished components (doors, windows, etc.), fire-fighting devices (hose reels, hydrants, etc.).

The CE marking is placed on the product, on the packaging or delivered together with the commercial documents, depending on the type of product, is accompanied by the Declaration of Performance (DoP) and legally commits the Manufacturer to supply the market with a product that complies with the performance therein. declared; the essential requirements indicated by the European Commission are common to all EU countries and therefore the product can circulate freely throughout the European territory.

The CE marking implies the replacement of the national standards already existing on some products in the field of fire prevention (essentially the approvals for reaction to fire and fire resistance) with the new European standards, thus allowing the circulation of products without the need of further approvals at national level of other EU countries. The certification procedures, called Systems of Assessment and Verification of Constancy of Performance (AVCP) are established by the European Commission on the basis of criteria for the intended use of products and safety in use.

Depending on the products, interventions by a Notified Body are foreseen for: factory inspections to verify the Manufacturers' production control (FPC - Factory Production Control), periodic surveillance to verify that factory production control is maintained by the Manufacturer , type tests to verify performance in the laboratory. The systems are: 1+, 1, 2+, 3, 4 with a progressive lower intervention of the notified bodies.
