Fire Resistance Tests for Building Doors and Locks

CSI has 30 years' experience in fire door testing, having started as an authorised laboratory in 1992, performing tests according to the Italian UNI 9723 standard.

Over the years, with the evolution of the international regulatory panorama and the entry into force of European standards EN 1634-1 for fire doors and EN 1634-3 for smoke-tight doors, CSI has obtained the necessary recognition to operate as a testing laboratory authorised by the Italian Ministry of the Interior and accredited according to international quality management systems.  

The laboratory's authorisation allows it to use the test reports issued for the homologation procedures, foreseen by the Ministerial Decree of 21 June 2004, which permit the installation of these products in activities subject to the application of fire prevention standards and criteria.

The tests according to EN 1634-1 and EN 1634-3 are also suitable for CE marking according to EN 16034.

CSI is a leader in the field of testing according to EN 81-58 that applies to fire-resistant landing doors, being the only national laboratory able to carry out tests according to EN 81-58.

All the testing activities mentioned are covered by accreditation according to UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025 to guarantee the competence, independence and impartiality of the laboratory.
