The Ministerial Decree of February 16, 2007 establishes the obligation to qualify the fire resistance performance of all those building systems or components that fall within the scope of fire compartmentation systems, both by interrupting the continuity of the system and by providing a further contribution to its fire resistance.
These systems include, among others, fire dampers (subject to CE marking according to EN 14509), sealing systems, both linear and penetration, and raised floors.
Fire dampers have been, since 2012, the sectioning systems for ventilation ducts, subject to CE marking according to the Construction Products Regulation (No. 305/2011 (CPR).
The sealing of linear joints, made with products based on foams, polyurethane, silicone or acrylic, are compulsorily subject to experimental verification, based on the Italian legislation that defines the procedures, referring to the European test and classification standards.
Similarly, the sealing systems of passages and openings in curtain walls with fire-resistant requirements, made with various types of systems, such as mineral wool, or combinations of different layers of materials, or collars (in the case of passage of pipes), or based thermo-expanding, must be subjected to fire resistance tests, both in vertical and horizontal configuration, in order to obtain the necessary marketing authorization, within the limits set by the testing and classification standards (EN 13501-2).
For the tests of all these fireproof systems CSI is an accredited body according to UNI CEI EN ISO / IEC 17025.
CSI boasts many years of experience in testing and classification of these products, in detail, CSI offers the testing and classification service for the following systems:
