Construction Materials - Reaction to Fire and CE Marking

Construction products - Laboratory tests and CE marking - Regulation (EU) n. 305/2011.

CSI is a Notified Body by the European Commission with number 0497 in compliance with Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2011 which establishes harmonized conditions for the marketing of construction products and which repeals Directive 89/106/EEC of the Council.

Regulation 305/2011 does not need to be implemented as a Community Law and, therefore, is already in force in all States. The Regulation defines common procedures for the marketing and marking of construction products.

Construction products, intermediate products intended to be incorporated into construction works, must comply with the requirements and performance related to the seven essential requirements of the construction work, including in point 2, safety in the event of fire.

In Italy, if the construction product in question is covered by a standard harmonized with Regulation no. 305/2011 (CPR) the reaction to fire tests are carried out following the indications contained in the EN 13501-1 standard.

Alternatively, the products are classified following the indications of the Ministerial Decree 26/06/84.

CSI offers its experience in the sector with a complete assistance, testing and certification service for all the requirements of  the harmonized standards, with particular reference to the reaction to fire tests for the determination of the new European Classes, to the release tests of dangerous substances, sound absorption and thermal insulation tests in addition to the issue of the CE certificate.
