Test and Verification of Conformity of Child Care Devices (EN 14350; EN 14372; EN 1400)

The user for whom there is a growing need for a guarantee of safety is undoubtedly the child. In line with this need, the Food Packaging Materials Operating Sector has developed the main methods for determining the safety, mechanical and chemical requirements of baby care devices. Together with the food suitability requirements of the materials used, the analytical packages are capable of providing overall product compliance.

CSI is also a recognized laboratory for carrying out the necessary tests for the approval of car seats by numerous international ministries (Holland, Ireland, Germany). Among the main tests required for approval we mention the following:

  • dynamic tests that simulate front, rear and side impact
  • tests that verify the restraint of the child during a vehicle rollover condition
  • resistance and functionality tests on all components (buckles, straps, adjusters ...).

Additional voluntary tests may be requested by customers, such as dynamic tests at higher speeds and mechanical resistance tests at higher loads than those prescribed by the reference standards. CSI also carries out tests on anti-lost devices, both to verify any changes in the performance of restraint systems and in terms of device functionality.
